Chemical Point is a quality supplier of Chemistry, Material Science, Pharma and Life Science chemicals. They're headquartered near Munich, Germany with subsidiaries in Italy and the UK. Chemical Point offers a comprehensive portfolio with over 50,000 product lines to businesses and organisations worldwide.
What did they need?
Chemical Point started their UK operation in 2015. In the process, they sought our advice and support to establish their finance and accounting function. We recommended Sage Business Cloud as it's easy to use and seamlessly integrates accounting and payroll. To complement this, we implemented paperless invoice processing using AutoEntry. This was an essential part of the setup given that many of the supplier invoices were issued in Germany or further afield.
In addition, Chemical Point required practical advice and support to become VAT registered, submit VAT returns, prepare and submit year end accounts and corporation tax returns. An EORI number (Economic Operator Registration and Identification) was also required in order for Chemical Point to import and trade goods outside the EU.
Apart from the accounting and finance knowhow, we also appreciate the speed and flexibility in problem solving we have received from James and his colleagues. We were looking for the full ‘feel good package’ and that is exactly what we've got.

How we succeeded
Chemical Point's Directors have a busy schedule, often travelling worldwide to visit their suppliers or customers. It’s essential that their accounting and compliance is proactively managed, and performed autonomously and remotely. When input is required, a scheduled conference call is arranged to cover and resolve key accounting, compliance or credit control matters. Together, this means that Chemical Point's staff can focus on growing and running the business, safe in the knowledge that we'e got their finances covered.
